Moving Image With Glen: Analyse

In this video i will be analysing a music video from chris brown featuring usher and the song is called New Flame. Also some camera angles and parts of the song that had been edited through Adobe After Effects.

Source
I really like this song only because the beat to the song and also the vocals that a good to my ears. I listened to this song a while ago but then i didn't watch the video clip. I also got the video from youtube.

Byline
In this video Chris brown and usher are just basically dancing and moving to the song. The Director has a lot of strong angles that can relate to the story that their talking about in the song

Theme
This music video is based on finding a girl that you could call your girlfriend followed by the title "New Flame" meaning someone that you don't know but you are interest in meeting. This song has a lot of effects when it comes down to putting flame effects to suit the title of the song.

Structure
In many songs it starts with the main artist (Chris Brown) and then the following artist's after him. this music video is simple when it comes down to the structure of it because it is easy to read whats coming next.

Camera
theres a few panning and Tilt in this music video but because some of the song and how they are outside most of the time. The Crane is used a lot which makes it more balanced.

I Like it how the layout of this scene is done by having the girls around in a horse shoe with the main object in the middle, to me it gives structure.

This scene took me to how i was planning my music video with my brother by having that shallow depth of field by blurring that lady in the background and giving all the attention to Chris Brown.

This still showed a lot of planning within the director and the music artist "Usher" showing the viewers that it is his turn to shine and show how the old school musicians do it.

These scenes are similar because it is in the same shoot. the top one shows good lighting and then put into adobe after effects to add the still on the below with the flames. by adding it when all of them jumped.

This still is at the end of the song and i like how they made it look like a night scene by putting the object at the back and put it into flames. To represent his album (X Files) but then adding the smoke machine to give it that outback feel.

Moving Image With Glen: Lighting Exercise

In this exercise we had to experiment with lighting. For this task we had a situation where there was conversation between to people about money but for me i had to work with the camera angles and leo worked with lighting.

The iso was 640 and the aperture was at 6 it was a fun exercise because we could do any situation that we came up with. We set three lights up one light facing towards the boys but double wrapped to give light but not that much and a backlight to highlight some of the boys faces, and the lamp in the background to balance the video.

Moving Image With Glen: RGB Curves

In this video i was experimenting with the RGB curves using adobe premiere. having the before and after to show the changes that i have made to enhance the videos of my photo album.

What Worked?
Writing the different techniques i could use to help me change the colour temperatures of the video from before to after

What Didn't Work?
The way that i took the video. It was a bit blown out and it made it harder to adjust the video by using the RGB Curves tool.

What Next?
Next time i will adjust the iso and make it suitable so when i put it in adobe premiere it would be easier.

Moving Image With Glen: Color Theory

Today we are looking at the colour theory, watching a few tutorials on how colour is use to make scenes in movies a bit more understanding from a humans eye.

Movies in colour is a website were you can look up and see the basic colour's that are used in a particular scene in still images from movies, By looking at the colour grid.

Here are some of the images that caught my attention.

I really like this because of the basic colour's that are used in this movie, which are from black to light yellow. To me it gives the viewer a understanding on whats going on in the movie. The eye will automatically pick up the colours that stand out in this still. this image shows that he has either killed the person that is laying down or even getting information out of the person that is gold.

I really like the colours used in this still image. Only because the clothing matches with the wall in this scene and it gives it balance and volume.

This website helps you to get to know the colours more and understand it more.
