Robert Hughes (1998, June 08 Monday) The Artist PABLO PICASSO. TIME.
Retrieved from
Content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,988489,00html

Its a Art Writing About Pablo Picasso and explaining about his history and how his art changed the world. saying that he dominated the western art in the 20th century is. writing about the millions that watched him paint and express his feelings through art. To me i love how Robert Hughes talked about him in this article and expressed what he felt on having Pablo Picasso as his artist to talk about if i was an artist i would strongly recommend Robert Hughes. He is also the Art Critic that wrote down these keywords and story's of Pablo Picasso.
This article is more like a story telling of Picasso's life and how he lived. He was also politically lucky says Robert Hughes. his fame protected him during the german occupation of paris. The key ideas are exhibition's view on these things. I really love Pablo Picasso's Artwork because i followed his artwork from when i was a young man up until now. Love his style and to me there wont ever be another Pablo in this life time.

RRaw With Cassandra: Critique 5 Images

Pablo Picasso

I can see a lot of things in this image, like the shadow that is shinning on this man. It looks like he is sick or maybe even in prison. i can see bread and a table that is in this painting by Pablo Picasso. I feel cold and Sad looking at this image because it is dark and there is a frown emotion on the man that is in this image this image looks soft with some rough edges from the table. it looks quite because there is no sign of any voice or any type of ambient that is in this image. This image reminds me of a person that is in prison and is going in there for life. reminds me of a zombie because of the colours that were used. I can relate to this painting only because everyone has experienced depression and for me this image says it all. from the dark shades and blue colours reflecting from the moon. To me this is a sign of getting out of the mind state of being sad and never letting go of the positives but learning from the negatives. This image will work with some of my ideas that i want to express throughout my artwork. When i look at this image it just takes me back to a place where i wouldn't think of. Theme to this image would be along the lines of punishing this man for what he has done in the past or what he is going to do. But in that saying he looks like he has all the time in the world to do whats so ever.

Gustave Courbet

In this oil painting from Gustave Courbet i can see a man that shows a lot of eyes where it takes me to the point of thinking that he is shocked or even surprised. When i look at this image it makes me feel uncomfortable, only because the look of this image. It looks so simple but explains story's in many ways. I can hear strange and sad music playing in the background thinking if it is just my thoughts or my eyes telling me that this photo is looking at me. It taste like pain, only because he is brushing his hair and his armpits smell like he hasn't had a shower in days. This painting looks warm from the room that he is in. with some rough and heated textures that come along with this painting. this image reminds me of a bad dream that i have had and in that dream my family suddenly changed and turned on me. When i wake up it was all just a dream. When i look at this image it makes me think if there was a camera next to me when i had this look in my face would i look the same or will i look more intense if i took the photo. If i was to tell a story through this image i would say that there is many ways i could put this. its either he has gone crazy from working to much or having a chance to express himself through this painting but Gustave Courbet painted this and he focus on whats around him so this could have been one of his friends that he imagine what was like. I like this image because it has a lot of story's behind the one emotion and the painting style makes you connect more to this image.

Rebecca Ann Hobbs

I see a house which looks like the following Main Subjects in this image done from Rebbecca. I can see a tree in this image which indicates to me that this image was taken around Autumn. I can see a dog going for a hug. And he/she owner is holding the dog at the same time. I can feel the smooth grass with the warmth feeling from the house and the owner. Also looking at the colour of the lady's clothes this image would be around the country side. I can smell dog food i do not know why but that came to me when i looked at the image. I get a soft and warm feeling from the sun shinning on these two. This image reminds me of having a dog or pet that you care for and you love with all your heart. That saying goes "A Dog is a mans Best friend" and that is true that is the reason why i choose this image. It reminds me of the years Ive had dogs that i grew with. It makes me wonder if this lady has had this dog for a while because both subjects in this image look around the same age. I was connected to this image straight away looking at the angles and story in this image just took my breathe away. It looks like she tried telling the dog to sit, but knowing the dog went up for a hug and she went with it.

Leilani Kake

In this image i see two Polynesian Girls that are catching the bus or have arrived to the bus stop. I see the sign of Otara. leilani kake is a local artist that focuses on her people. I feel like this image has a good explanatory of what has happen to her or what she wants to show the viewer. I can smell the flea market food and Polynesian. This image reminds me of how me and my brother would jump off the bus and walk to my gran parents to stay for the weekend. This image makes me feel happy only because my family has grown up around Otara and to see that this image was taken from a place that i know off by heart. It makes me happy. I would enjoy making experiments around my family. This image makes me feel like i am Comfortable. Thinking of what would of happen in this image the two sister's Leilani Kake. The theme to this has made me change my mind of thinking even if i was to imagine if this was me. I really like this image and it helps me think about life and how far i have gone till now. all the steps that i have taken and all the people I've met. Bus stops are a modern meeting place to any human that walks this earth it is more like a step of life that is taken.

         Marina Abramovic

This is a self portrait By Marina Abramovic "Art Must Be Beautiful" when i watched this moving image the first thing that came to my mind was that she is intense throughout the whole moving image. And she is Saying the same sentence. The angles of her are basic but the message is strong when it comes to this. It reminds me of a chant that is said over and over again. And listening to the tone in her voice it sounds like she is forcing herself to say it. even though she has a strong mindset she says it instantly. it makes me think of everything i see which is normal like trees and buildings but to that individual it must be beautiful. If you don't agree with me then that's just how it is. I can imagine myself doing the same thing but thinking to myself if i was to deliver the same way for this moving image i would struggle. this moving image takes me to another understanding of what art means to people whether your thinking to yourself that your not right. I agree with her in every single way. but if i was to choose a moving image artist that i would act in it. It would be this one. only because i like the angles on how it is so simple but the message across is power

Moving Image With Rebecca: Experiment

Attempt At Dolly

For this experiment i was trying to get a dolly in shot. Only because in this scene i am late for class and that i am worried. and making a dolly in or out would make the scene more understanding that I'm scared of being late. so here is one of my experiments.

Moving Image With Rebecca: Research

For my final video Portrait i am going to be teaming up with a classmate Leo. And we will be doing a video based on comedy mixed with a lot of different scenes that suits the feeling. I have been looking at parody's of songs that people are mocking. And Sounds that i could use for our final project

Videos

Sound Effects

I was thinking of using sound effects only because the scenes will be more explanatory on what has happen in that scene.

Horror Sound Effects And Music

Because our video is based on a comedy feel. if i add a scene that is close to scary then it would change the look of the video. Making our final video unpredictable

Spongebob Squarepants - Timecards

I like this because it is a break but at the same time still keeps the flow of the video and i am thinking of putting it in my final

The Reason why i put this video in because i had a idea of putting in a dolly in a scene where i am going to be late for class. and a dolly will be a good of idea where something just happen.

Moving Image With Rebecca: Shoot Out

Wild West Shoot Out

For this Exercise we were put in groups of five and were given the task to make a Shoot out sequence. I directed the situation but with the help of all the boys that participated in this it helped me to get what i wanted to achieve. all the props and Scenes were Freestyle which made it easy for me to Edit at the end of the day.

What worked?
When we all came together and brainstormed were we are going to film this exercise we all decided that we should go to alley way because this clip was based around a one on one Scene.

What Didn't Work?
This exercise was a good way of using what we had but along the way the tripod wasn't useful but thinking about what we were doing. the only thing was that we could of used the Mic to having short comments.

What Next?
Experimenting more with Music in the background and using text as a way to communicate in Moving image.

Moving Image With Rebecca: Low Key and High Key

Low Key

 High Key

Moving Image With Rebecca: Still Image Exercise

Blood In Blood Out

What Worked?

  • The Best thing about out still image was that we had come together as a group of four and this image from blood in blood out fit the scene. we worked together trying to get the perfect angle and movements of the still image to achieve this

What Didn't Work?

  • when we tried to use the chair to line up the still image and try to get it on point
  • Because the chair didn't work we had to get Leo to sit on the ground so his head will line up with Sam's waist

What Next?

  • It Will be good to try another still image or maybe even try and attempt the still image again.

Moving Image With Rebecca: Two Cars One Night

Two Cars One Night

  1. Taika Waititi
  2. January 2004

Props

For the short film they used a few props just to keep the short film smooth adding things that Polly was playing with like feathers and the ring. followed by the two cars that the actors were in.and last the book where Romeo's brother is reading throughout the short film.

Costume

he three actors in this short film have casual clothing, a old school feel to it.

Lighting

The Lighting in this short film is quite dark only because it is shot in at night. The effects through out the whole film is black and white.

Location

This Short film was shot in the north island of New Zealand. Outside of a Bar or Hotel Party. The scene shows that they were outside in a parking lot.

Moving Image WIth Rebecca: Research

Research (Camera Tips)

I Like this video because it explains to me vividly on what type of camera angles is used for and what would be best for that scene. because i am thinking of doing a music video for my self portrait i wanted a scene in the start of my music video to set the bar and connect with the audience as they are clearly knowing whats going on.

Research (Credits)

When i was experimenting with adobe premiere i found it hard when it came to credits, only because i will do my best in the editing and cutting but when it came to credits i will run out of ideas. Obviously the end credits is simple but just the format you have to go by. So watching this tutorial i found that it helped me so much, where i learnt new things and found shortcuts that will help me in the future.

This is a good example of creativity when dealing with credits. Opening credits from the movie "Catch me if you can" Starring Leonardo DiCaprio.  Where it shows a theme and they stuck to it which was awesome. I will post something up that relates to this video.

Music Videos

What is a green screen?

In the following Music Videos it will demonstrate how well the green screen is used.  from making animations to adding texts that suit each scene of the song. I am really interested in finding out more techniques to use if i am heading towards this area for my final project.

Kanye West Featuring T-pain - The Good Life

Growing up from a young children i found that i was interested in hip hop and R&b. Also listening to a few genres i become attached with this type of music only because it related to what i was going through and what i wanted to do in life. So when i listen to this song it always takes me way back. I like how the texts in this video is actually the lyrics to the song. It gives the music flavour and makes it unique.

T-pain Featuring Chris Brown - Freeze

This Music video has simalarities to the first video above. It demonstates Creativity . Adding Extras that make the music video more entertainment and it provides a good feeling. Both Music Videos from T-pain Have been released around the same time so it is possible that the Director and editor of both videos are the same
